Assorted Art Pieces/Intersession 2016
At the beginning of the year, we did a project about teamwork in Humanities, and in Art, we made installation art pieces that represented what we learned with our teams. My group (Team Ravenclaw) made a tea station, an upgrade to one that our Humanities teacher at the time had in his room. We did that to show that if teens are treated well, are given responsibilities and respect, they will step up to the plate. This was shown through the way current tea station in the classroom (a table with electric kettles, tea bags, and mugs) way treated. It was generally really respected, because the students knew that if we respected it, it would stay around.
Our tea station is a counter that we painted, added a wooden top to, and otherwise fixed up. On the two cabinet doors, we painted the countries that tea originated in, and various plants used to make tea. That was done to show where tea came from. We also wanted to style the counter after a Japanese tea house, but we didn't have the time or the materials.

In Art this year, we made different art pieces every week with different mediums. Some of the mediums we used were pen and ink, pencil, and chalk/oil pastels. Here are some of my pieces from those mini-projects.
During the Mixed Media Art Intersession this year, I re-stained and re-upholstered an old desk/chair set of mine, and with some help from friends and my dad, it turned out awesome! See picture gallery for full transformation.
